Dear friends, This is the last email you will ever receive from the Fizz Club. We are starting a fermentation club which will communicate and share thoughts and treats through posted mail, drop-offs and face-to-face (currently physically distanced for now) meetings, following the lunar calendar. Fermentation is a long, slow and analog process, thus our collaborative work will follow the same pattern. Fizz club started as a continuation of the Garage School of Fermentation that took place in the summer of 2020 in RIB (https://laagencia.net/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/SUMMER-FERMENT-ZINE-WEB.pdf). We want to keep on experimenting with fermentation in all shapes and forms to make tasty foods and drinks and share them and the process with others. In order to deepen the exploration of our intimate relation with the microcosmos of bacteria, we're delving into the transformative biopolitical relations that emerge from fermentation processes and metaphors. Fermentation rituals invite us to explore our entanglements to the microcosmos of life, history and food, as well as to the macrocosmos of time, space, and flow. We intend to publish a lunar-cyclic newsletter about food and life in Rotterdam delivered via snail mail. If you want to join the club please send or drop off a piece of paper with your name (can be nickname, pseudonym, etc.) and your mail delivery address of choice to Varia, Gouwstraat 3 3082BA Rotterdam, mentioning the fizz club. If you're curious about how to participate and what we plan to do, you'll get more information in the first mail you'll receive by post. This message lives at https://fizz.varia.zone.
